Stranger Things season 4 follows three main plot lines: in Hawkins, the kids investigate a series of teenage murders linked to a powerful being named Vecna; in California, Eleven struggles to regain her lost powers while Joyce and Murray embark on a mission to rescue Hopper from a Russian prison; and the Hawkins crew, led by Eddie Munson and a new villain named Vecna, uncover the truth behind the new terrors in the Upside Down. Returning as series regulars are Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Cara Buono, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Matthew Modine and Paul Reiser, while Brett Gelman was promoted to series regular after recurring in the previous two seasons. Jamie Campbell Bower, Joseph Quinn, and Eduardo Franco joined the main cast. Mason Dye, Tom Wlaschiha, Sherman Augustus, Nikola Đuričko, and Joe Chrest appear in recurring roles.
