In this video, we are on the Sunshine Coast waiting for Cyclone Alfred to arrive. The cyclone hovered just off Bribie Island for a few days, bringing plenty of rain and strong winds, but thankfully not the major impact everyone had feared. We spent a stormy Sunday stuck inside our hotel apartment, but were relieved when the weather started to clear on Monday. While the Sunshine Coast was mostly spared, the Gold Coast did cop a bit more of a hit. Join us as we share what it was like waiting out the storm!
In a nutshell,We were ready for Cyclone Alfred to hit... but nature had other plans. For days, Alfred circled off Bribie Island, drenching the Sunshine Coast with rain and winds but sparing us from major damage. Trapped inside on Sunday, we waited and watched as the storm slowly faded away. It was a wild weekend — not the massive cyclone we expected, but still a dramatic glimpse of Mother Nature’s power. The Gold Coast felt it harder, but here, we were lucky.
