Join me as we twist through the heart of the Pacific Northwest on an epic motorcycle ride from Beaver, Oregon, to the iconic Tillamook Air Museum.
Stepping off the bike, we dive deep into the incredible history of Hangar B at the former Naval Air Station Tillamook. Commissioned in 1943 during the height of WWII, this colossal wooden structure—the largest of its kind in the world—was built under intense wartime pressure to house the Navy's K-class blimps. These "Lighter-than-Air" (LTA) ships played a vital role in coastal defense, conducting anti-submarine patrols and convoy escorts to protect the West Coast from the Japanese submarine threat. Today, the museum stands as a titan of American wartime ingenuity, preserving the legacy of the brave crews who patrolled these skies and housing a world-class collection of vintage aircraft that every aviation enthusiast needs to see.
