Wheeled tank is an informal term used in relation to a number of modern heavy gun armored vehicles (sometimes also classified as wheeled tank fighters or infantry fire support vehicles) whose main characteristics are similar to those of modern light tanks and even main battle tanks.

Compared to light tanks such armored vehicles have higher speed and lower road surface impact with comparable cross-country capabilities (all-wheel-drive chassis with centralized tire pressure control system) and comparable firepower and maneuverability (vehicles are equipped with tank guns in full turret configuration). However, the wheeled undercarriage significantly limits the weight of the armored vehicle at which it will maintain acceptable mobility - as a result "wheeled tanks" have armor that protects only against bullets, fragments and shells of small caliber guns, which significantly limits their area of application and makes them unable in principle to form a full-fledged alternative to main battle tanks.
