‘Really frightening’: women waiting until near-death for reproductive care

Texas resident Amanda Zurawski nearly lost her life after she was denied an abortion. She, with the help of the Center For Reproductive Rights, sued the state of Texas last year. The Texas Supreme Court rejected Amanda’s case, and “failed to provide any sort of clarification” on the law, says Zurawski. Nancy Northup and The Center for Reproductive Rights continue to fight on behalf of dozens of women who have experienced similar harm due to abortion bans. “We are going to keep speaking up as long as this keeps happening.”
