Scotland's Most Sacred Island - A Tour Of Iona

There aren't many places in Scotland as special as the Isle of Iona.

Just off the coast of Mull, Iona has drawn pilgrims, kings, and curious travellers for centuries. The monastery first established by Saint Columba in 563 AD became one of the most influential religious centres in medieval Europe, but there's much more to this story than just Celtic Christianity.

We'll see the graveyard of Scottish Kings and Clan Chiefs, the very first carved Celtic Crosses and the site of Viking massacres. Outside of Iona Abbey, the island has some of the most beautiful beaches in Scotland and I'll take you on a journey to parts of the island that few visitors reach - past the Bay at the Back of the Ocean, all the way to Columba's Bay!
