Shareholder stewardship is the new ‘buzzword’ in corporate governance, but many of its aspects remain unclear. Dr. Dionysia Katelouzou (The Dickson Poon School of Law, Kings College London), Prof. Hanne Birkmose (Aarhus University), Prof. Giovanni Strampelli (Bocconi University), Dr Natania Locke (Swinburne University of Technology), Mr. Tim Bowley (Johnson Winter & Slattery), Ms. Claudia Chapman (Financial Reporting Council), Prof. Brian Cheffins (University of Cambridge), Prof. Umakanth Varottil (National University of Singapore), Prof. Andrew Jen-Guang Lin (National Taiwan University) and Prof. David Donald (Chinese University of Hong Kong) discuss the meaning of stewardship at the Global Shareholder Stewardship Conference that took place at King’s College London on 23-4 September 2019.
The conference was co-organised by Dr Dionysia Katelouzou (The Dickson Poon School of Law, Kings College London) and Dr Dan Puchniak (Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore), and co-sponsored by The Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London; the Transnational Law Institute, King's College London; the British Academy's Partnership with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy; and the ESRC Social Science Impact Fund.
This first-of-its-kind conference is part of a broader Global Shareholder Stewardship project, for which you can find more information at https://www.kcl.ac.uk/research/global....
