Residents of Kiryabana Village, near Hoima City Stadium, are spending sleepless nights in fear that investors might grab their land under the guise of NFA activities. On Friday, officials from the National Forestry Authority (NFA) and Hoima City leadership, led by the Resident City Commissioner (RCC), held a community baraza to sensitize locals about ongoing forest boundary opening and tree planting.
Despite reassurances from NFA’s Head of Security that the exercise is a presidential directive to protect forests nationwide—not a land takeover—many residents remain unconvinced and anxious about their land ownership and future.
