This is a technique to remove factory weathering on the original Heljan OO B tank wagons. It took a while to find a solvent that is manageable and with care removes the overspray weathering. Do be careful with this product, it’s aggressive on the model surface, and needs to be used in a well ventilated area. The MiG pigments and similar types of product are available from military modelling suppliers and quite a few model shops. The washes can also be achieved with enamel or acrylic paints, I prefer the pigment as varying the density is easier.
I’m pleased with the results, it tones the original weathering down and gives a more realistic and varied weathered finish.
