North Carolina enacted a ban on several reptile-amphibian species that is effective August of 2022. These species that are currently owned can be kept with a permit at the cost of $10 and submitting the application linked here -- https://www.ncwildlife.org/Portals/0/... --
to NC Fish and Wildlife.
One species on this list is the Argentine black and white tegu, the only tegu species prohibited, that we need to continue to work on having removed from this restricted list.
