How to fish for pike?
While fishing the usage of soft lures for pike is the most efficient for this kind of fish. Using a jig head with a single hook, hookpull often happens. The reason is bad, insufficient striking of pike (and other predatory fish) when biting. From this tip you will learn, how to equip a soft lure with a double hook and make striking of both active and passive pike, rising to the lure, more efficient. It will also reduce the possibility of hookpull for at least 50 %.
We need:
· A soft lure (for example, Manns Predator)
· A double hook
· A sectional jig head
Take the lure and the hook. Attach the hook to the lure and measure distance from eyelet to shank end. Lay out one of hook points through the lure body. “Bury” the eyelet into the lure body and lay it out through the body to head direction. Take the sectional jig head and fix its eyelet with the hook eyelet, put on the jig head. The soft lure for pike (and for other predatory fish) is ready.
While pike biting, it is caught with both one and two hooks. It minimizes the hookpull possibility during landing of fish.
