HEMS London shows us the day in the life of a flight paramedic and flight doctor. This specialty crew responds to emergencies in the greater London area as flight EMS or HEMS.
We follow this emergency call-out from start to finish and I react as an American Paramedic to the London HEMS crew.
If you are interested in becoming a flight paramedic, the first step is obtaining your EMT certification, then your paramedic certification.
Once you have gained your paramedic certification, I recommend working in a busy 911 service for at least 3-5 years for a chance to apply to a flight crew in the United States. I look forward to your success in EMS and enjoy this reaction video of HEMS London.
