In this video, we demonstrate how to accurately check the surface straightness and the engine cylinder bore service limit of the Honda CD70 motorcycle. By adhering to the guidelines provided in the official workshop or service manual for the Honda CT70. which features the same engine. We will effectively assess the cylinder’s condition by measuring its diameter and then comparing those readings with the service manual. The tools we’ll be using include a precision straight edge, feeler gauge, telescopic bore gauge, and micrometer.
Our aim is to help you identify signs of wear or an oval-shaped bore, ensuring the cylinder meets the manufacturer’s specifications for a precise and successful 70cc engine rebuild.
Note: The tilt shown before taking measurements has been exaggerated for demonstration purposes. In practice, the tilt should not exceed 15 degrees.
