Mahamati Prannath Ji (1618–1694) was a great spiritual reformer, mystic, and the founder of the Pranami Sampradaya, a spiritual tradition emphasizing unity of all religions. Born as Mehraj Thakur in Jamnagar (Gujarat), he later became known as Mahamati Prannath after receiving divine enlightenment.
His major contribution is the sacred scripture Kuljam Swaroop, a compilation of around 14,000 verses written in multiple languages (Hindi, Gujarati, Arabic, Persian, Sindhi).
Prannath Ji traveled across India and the Middle East, spreading the message of ekta (oneness), inner awakening, and divine knowledge (Brahm Vidya). He guided King Chhatrasal of Bundelkhand spiritually and politically, helping to establish a just kingdom based on dharma.
The first scripture of Mahamati Prannath Ji is "Raas," which was revealed while he was in prison. It is written in the Gujarati language, in which Swamiji described the divine vision of the Raas (cosmic dance) that took place in Vrindavan, which he witnessed through deep meditation.
