The last part of our trip in Vietnam was dedicated to Hanoi and Ha Long Bay.
Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam and one of the country's most historically and culturally rich cities. Located in the north, on the western bank of the Red River, it blends ancient heritage with modern development.
Must-See Attractions:
Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple – a peaceful heart of the city.
Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum – where Vietnam's revolutionary leader is laid to rest.
Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university, dating back to 1070.
West Lake – the largest lake in Hanoi, popular for scenic views and upscale cafés.
Ha Long Bay (Vietnamese: Vịnh Hạ Long) is one of Vietnam’s most stunning natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in Quang Ninh Province, about 165 km (100 miles) east of Hanoi, it’s a popular destination known for its dramatic limestone karsts, emerald waters, and rich local legends.
The best way to explore is by boat or cruise—from simple day trips to luxury overnight stays. Overnight cruises often include kayaking, swimming, squid fishing, and visiting caves.
