Ethernet over Copper Introduction

The need for high capacity symmetric data links often directly correlates to where it's most difficult to provision them. What options do service providers have in these situations? One solution is to build out their fiber infrastructure or install more T-carrier circuits using the existing copper infrastructure.

Lately however, service providers are turning to bonded symmetrical high speed DSL solutions such as SHDSL.bis that provide higher throughput than traditional DS1 links and extend the life of existing copper plant.
