Alone in a Blizzard: Restoring an Abandoned Bus into a Warm Haven

A fierce blizzard, an old abandoned bus, and a challenge to create a warm refuge in the middle of the snowy wilderness. Over multiple visits, I’ve been turning this broken-down bus into a true survival shelter. This time, I built an interior wall to divide the space—creating an entryway and a separate insulated room to stay warm and protected from the harsh winter storm.

After the hard work, I cooked delicious cheese-stuffed patties and boiled potatoes on an old stove while the snowstorm raged outside. Inside, the fire crackled, the food sizzled, and the bus became a cozy retreat in the frozen wild.
