Two wings of RAF Spitfires perform an ill-fated fighter sweep over France on 2 Jun 1942. Fighter ace Al Deere leads 403 squadron.

Corrections:
On 2 Jun 1942, 403 Sqn lost six pilots and eight aircraft including Wozniak's scrapped a/c.
Al Deere was in the United States from Jan - Apr 1942.
It was Deere and Walker who searched for the mystery pilot in the dinghy.
