Lighter than Dura-Ace! Incredible Shimano Pedals from AliExpress

Most road cyclists use Shimano SPD-SL clipless pedals. However the pedals from Shimano are quite expensive, and not very lightweight.

Their 105 PD-R7000 pedals cost about £75 and weigh 265g per pair. The next step up to Ultegra, their PD-R8000 pedals, cost around £100 and weigh 248g for the pair, and finally their top of the line Dura-Ace PD-R9100 pedals, around £150 and 228g per pair.

Shopping on AliExpress, I found a pair of clipless Shimano SPD-SL compatible pedals, that weigh less than the Dura-Ace pedals, for just £40!

They come from a brand called Onirii, are made of a similar carbon composite material to the Dura-Ace pedals, and even come with a titanium alloy axle to save as much weight as possible.

At just over 200g, they are easily the lightest SPD-SL pedals that I have come across, and after using them for a few weeks, I am very impressed. They are incredibly easy to clip in and out of, offer a wide stable pedal platform, and even the cleats that come free in the box are great quality. However, I do have a few concerns...
