Safe Harbor Assisted Living Facility Video Tour

I was invited to visit Ed and Melinda Nava at Safe Harbor Assisted Living, which is located in beautiful Longmont, Colorado. I took my HD video camera, and videotaped the tour of the facility.

Safe Harbor is located in a residential neighborhood, and is a home that features beautiful landscaping, and attention to detail. Immediately, a visitor will notice the plentiful flowers surrounding the facility, as well as the fountains, yardscapes, and other features. There is a long ramp leading into the home that makes it handicap accessible.

The interior of the facility is just as beautiful, and impressive. There are two main areas of the house where seniors can enjoy reading, quiet time, or activities. Safe Harbor Assisted Living offers a full activities calendar for it's elderly residents, and at any given time you might find a caregiver helping a senior resident with a puzzle, or perhaps watching old movies, or even exercising!

There are several resident rooms in the facility, ranging from single to double occupancy. The home is equipped with all of the necessary safety equipment, such as fire alarms, sprinkler system, hand rails, and the like. Safe Harbor can take a wide range of seniors with physical or even mental disabilities or challenges, such as dementia.

Ed's wife, Melinda is a gourmet cook, and does much of the cooking at Safe Harbor. There are two lovely dining areas at the facility that are inviting, with appropriate decor. During the holidays, Safe Harbor Assisted Living goes 'all out' with holiday decorations and activities.

The backyard area of the facility is as impressive as any part of the home, with a waterfall yardscape, beautiful flowers, and a sense of quiet and calm that would invite anyone to spend time there reading, or just being with the birds, and butterflies (While I was filming, several butterflies made their presence known...visiting the flowers and foliage in the back yard!).

Ed and Melinda have been at this location for about 5 years now, and it is very apparent that they take great pride in their assisted living facility, as well as their caregiving duties and talents. The Navas plan on opening another 35-bed facility sometime in the future!
