📌 Methodology (How the Data Was Counted)

• All players registered in the final match squad of the winning team are counted.
• A player’s nationality is counted once per title won. Multiple titles = multiple counts for that country.
• Squad regulations changed over time:
• 1956–1966: No substitutes allowed
• 1967–1969: One registered reserve (mostly goalkeepers)
• 1970–1996/97: Up to five substitutes
• Post-Bosman Ruling (1997/98): Seven substitutes and relaxed foreign-player limits
• 2018/19–2025: Up to 12 substitutes allowed
