This is a slideshow, I quickly put together, of a Triumph Trophy 1200 I bought to basically clean up and sell.
The bike actually ran well, but had been left outside for nearly 2 years due to the owner suffering a stroke and no longer being able to ride it.
This was not a full restoration, but I did strip all of the bodywork, front and rear brakes (including pad replacement), stripped and cleaned all of the instrument cluster, stripped and cleaned the seized fuel tap, draines, flushed and de-rusted the fuel tank, replaced sprockets and chain, oil and air filter (had to remove the carburettor bank to get to the air filter housing) and had to re-route a lot of the wiring, especially all wiring integrated into the alarm system.
All of the luggage was also badly scratched and the front mud guard was badly cracked and damaged. I had previously learned to do plastic body repairs, so I repaired this and also some missing lugs on the fairings to properly secure them.
I had to order a matching touch-up paint stick, microfibre touch-up sticks and I also had a couple of spray paint cans made to the colour spec. Lots of spraying and rubbing down, with various grades of wet & dry, and then finally lacquering (again with lots of rubbing down)and then finally polishing.
Still have a couple of things left to finish off (luggage rack needs to be sprayed and refitted) and have to take the headlamp cowl off again, to replace the flasher unit. Other than that, all done.
I may replace this slideshow with an updated one once the bike is complete.
Hope you like the video.
