What happens when one of Philadelphia’s most elite and iconic performing arts institutions partners with a local public school and puts instruments, instruction, and belief directly into students’ hands?
You see equity in action.
In this mini doc, students from KIPP West Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School share what it meant to start from zero, develop their skills, and prepare to perform at the Kimmel Center—just before the Philadelphia Orchestra’s The Glorious Sound of Christmas. Instructor Chrysyn Harp also reflects on the progress, confidence, and ownership she’s witnessed along the way.
This video highlights the impact of access to high-quality arts education and what’s possible when public school students are supported through intentional partnership.
