Gex Games: A 90s Time Capsule ft. the Gecko Mascot You Forgot About ~~~ Episode 26

We remember the 90s, and we remember the games. But trying out 3 Gex games short circuited (yes, that’s a movie reference) our 90s brains. Just realized Short Circuit is from the 80s, but I’m not changing it… it’s a good joke

The company that created the Gex mascot, Crystal Dynamics, intended for the gecko to compete with Mario and Sonic. If you remember gaming back then, you know everyone was throwing mascots at the wall. The wisecracking, TV-obsessed Gex made it through 3 games before vanishing in 1999, even though a fourth was in development.

These games are packed with pop culture and TV references–many of which were already outdated in the 90s. Playing them now, even funnier. Also, yes, we do make several “save 15% on your car insurance” jokes so you know you won’t be disappointed. It’s Tail Time!
