South Wales Mainline, Cardiff Central Station 23.04.2014 Part 1/2

Part 1/2. Continuing on from Newport (see my uploads for footage of this), a visit was made to Cardiff Central Station on the South Wales Mainline in the afternoon. Filmed on the 23rd April 2014.

Cardiff Central Station is an interchange between the rest of South and West Wales, as well as other major cities. Services are operated to West Wales, Holyhead, Crewe and Manchester, as well as South Wales Valley Lines.

Class 43 HST's, Class 175's, Class 142's, Class 150's, Class 158's, Class 60's, Class 66's and a Class 170 from operating companies First Great Western, Arriva Trains Wales, Cross Country Trains, DB Schenker and Freightliner.

In order of appearance; DB Schenker Class 60, No. 60063 heads west working Dee Marsh - Margam, DB Schenker Class 66, No. 66059 heads east working Aberthaw - Cwmbargoed, DB Schenker Class 60, No. 60059 'Swinden Dalesman' heads west working East Usk - Margam and Freightliner Class 66, No. 66547 heads east working Jersey Marine - Pengam.
