After a Thursday full of thunderstorms, it is a quieter day across the North Island today, although there is still the last of the wet weather to clear the north east of the county this afternoon.
For the South Island, it's generally a cloudy affair with wetter weather across the east of the island and the Tasman region.
A slow-moving area of rain remains over the the Tasman region overnight with the potential for thunderstorms and hail.
