As we leave midsummer behind and mark the Lammas sabbat, it's time for another lurch into discord, dystopia and women in uniform, with a new seasonal greet from Fear Is A Prison. The Trackers are out in force for this one, with Pro Tracker 2.3D, Fast Tracker II, Skale Tracker and ReNoise all being brought to bear. LMMS was also given a test run and produced some interesting sounds on track 7, one to experiment further with going forward as it has some really cool synths. Bells and whistles as always were provided with FL Studio, in particular the Blade Runner-esque synthscapes, and the trusty Reaper DAW used to pull it all together, mix the different tracks, and add the sacred side compression. We also found an old analogue radio set that we had a play around with for some primordial sonic soup by dialling through the static and the few analogue channels that are still alive. Finally, a Korg Monotron Duo synth was used for some distorted modulations.
They make take us into a Mad Max future, they may poison our minds with a tidal wave of guff that passes for information (yes, information must be free, but I've never made any such claim for misinformation), they may hand the running of our societies to amateur hour morons... but with servers all over the planet for us to upload our warez onto, they will probably never take our music...
