When I Was A Kid (Short Film)

Everyone always talks about how turning 30 is this crazy moment in your life, I guess I always believed people were just hyping it up. But yesterday was my 30th birthday and ever since the year started I feel like all I've done is think about my life leading up to 30. I've felt so many different emotions going through the memories of my 20s. All I can say that I feel now is acceptance. I've finally gotten to a point in my life where I'm okay with not being like everyone else because I can say I think I'm finally becoming the person I'm supposed to be.

I started skateboarding when I was 13 and it gave me everything I had been looking for. I never thought it was going to end, but after 24 broken bones, and many missed rehab sessions on my ankles, taking off my casts early, and not giving a damn about what the doctors said. My body couldn't take it anymore. I was broken, mentally and physically. I didn't know what I was going to do with my life and for a period of time, I did nothing.

Until one day I came across an old skateboarding video I filmed and watching that video brought me so much nostalgia and joy. The next day someone posted on facebook that they were selling their old Canon t3i, I used the last of my paycheck to buy it and I've never looked back since.
