As a long-time outspoken SUPERFAN of both Mariah Carey and Celine Dion, I felt like it was my duty and obligation to do a thorough video (please excuse the length) explaining the full context and content of Mariah's section about Celine Dion in her recently released memoir book, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey. In the chapter "Divas", Mariah establishes her relationship with Aretha Franklin and then proceeds to explain how she felt about Celine (whom she refers to as the "dueling diva") singing with Aretha on the inaugural Divas Live show on VH1 in 1998. The A-list collection of songbirds (Gloria Estefan, Shania Twain, Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion) gave an ensemble performance of "(You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman" and "Testimony" from the iconic special that still have fans talking to this very day.
