Dinner with Jesus – Paul week 2 - 10/23 - 20 minute Bible devotion –

Today, we walk with Paul as he writes to his beloved, spiritual child, Timothy, telling him that he is about to die and go to be with the Lord Jesus in heaven.

Death can be such a scary word in concept to people, but Jesus died on the cross to take away the fear of death. Because he rose from the grave! He conquer death!

Hebrews 2:14-15 NIV

14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.

1 .corinthians 15:52-56

52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.

55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
