This 2001 SLK is a gorgeous example of this eye-catching drop-top which was the very 1st electric-folding hardtop convertible. The SLKs image is 2nd to none when it comes to open-top opulence. Finished in metallic blue, this gorgeous example comes with an enviable specification including a 2-tone full leather interior. It's an eye-catching car with gorgeous coachwork which has a deep shine. Thanks to its clever roof design, the SLK is the sports car which is great to drive all year-round. I have always been a huge fan of these cars, and this one is exceptionally pretty. Power comes from the 218bhp, 3.2 litre V6 engine which is strong and capable, being normally aspirated for a gorgeous V6 soundtrack. This is mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox with tiptronic function which provides the SLK with silky smooth performance. Being that the SLK is relatively small and light, all that power translates into pretty impressive performance with a 0-60 time of just 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 150mph!! As a result it's a fun car to drive - But it's also very refined on the motorway where you really get to appreciate the excellent build quality and cruise control function.

Few manufacturers evoke an image of quality and prestige as much as Mercedes-Benz and the SLK lives up to the reputation. The solidity of this car is evident the moment you open the door - The interior has been crafted from quality materials and all the switchgear operates with a precision that is testament to the engineering excellence these cars are famed for. The cars 5 speed automatic gearbox is one of the smoothest you will ever experience and it has a tiptronic manual function for when you want to have full control of the ratios. Whilst the SLK is the smallest of Mercedes roadsters it is also the prettiest... This is a true roadster with a long bonnet and real road-presence. The SLK is sleek and low and has real presence, being well-proportioned and muscular-looking.

The SLK looks good with roof up or down. That roof is of course fully electric with no awkward clasps or clips to wrestle with - Its glides away in seconds and stows itself in the boot to reveal the striking lines of a thoroughbred sports car. The cars leather interior is comfortable and the 2 tone trim in this car looks especially smart. I did note on my inspections that some of the cream paint has come away on the interior in areas where you tend to rub against it - Ie. around the transmossion tunned, door handles and glovebox. While the interior is still very smart and eye catching the new owner needs to be aware it does have some signs of wear as seen in the photos and in my accompanying video. Despite this, its has to be one of the best quality, most outstanding SLKs in this price range - Although this car is now approaching its 22nd birthday having done 103k miles from new, it is in truly exceptional condition. It looks simply stunning as you can see in the photos. Whenever you drive this SLK It picks you up and whisks you away silently and without any fuss yet it covers ground at such a rapid pace that you will always arrive at your destination sooner than you thought. I noted that this particular SLK still feels solid & tight - you can tell from behind the wheel that this is a quality product which has been superbly well looked after - On long journeys you will appreciate this cars superb driving position and comfortable leather seats which ensure you always feel totally relaxed.
