Railroad Crossing | Conrads Ln (1), New Braunfels, TX

After catching the northbound mixed freight at Hinman Island, I returned back to downtown New Braunfels and decided to pay the railroad museum a quick visit. As I stepped out of the museum, a northbound aggregate train came roaring by just feet away. Not wanting to forego the train, ‪@Carter_H‬ and I jumped into my van and raced north to this crossing, beating the train with seconds to spare. We didn't even have time to get out of each other's shots. At any rate, here we see the northbound aggregate train with two AC45CCTEs sandwiching an SD70M.

This crossing features a pair of 1990s Western Cullen Hayes gates installed by the Union Pacific with most of the equipment being original aside from the newer NEG electronic bells and the usual LED retrofit. This crossing activates in tandem with the one on Track 2 just behind the camera, which certainly looks strange from this angle.
