Martin Black Product Review: Buckaroo Artist James Shoshone (Part 3)

This video is Part 3 of a 3-part interview series where Martin Black sits down with Buckaroo Artist James Shoshone to talk about James' background, influences, and artwork.

James Shoshone is a Native American artist of Timbisha Shoshone and Washoe descent. He was born in Carson City, Nevada, in 1972, and grew up in Woodsford California. Shoshone began drawing and painting at a young age, and his work is inspired by his Native American heritage, his love of the Western landscape, and his work as a buckaroo.

Shoshone's paintings and drawings often depict horses, cowboys, and the natural beauty of the American West. He uses a variety of media, including pen, ink, acrylics, watercolors, and murals. His work is characterized by its bold colors, strong lines, and realistic detail.

In 2017, he was chosen to be featured in the Great Basin Buckaroos exhibition by Mary Williams Hyde.

Black has authored several books, including “The Essential Martin Black Collection", “Cow Horse Confidence", and "Evidence-Based Horsemanship".(Co-authored with Dr. Steve Peters) He is highly regarded in the horse industry and has inspired many riders to improve their horsemanship skills and deepen their understanding of these amazing animals.
