Pretty good day to say the least, maybe some yelling because of traffic, but good day overall.
On this day November 1st, 2025, makes it exactly 17 years since @S@Siren1000T1filmed the infamous B Series Thunderbolt that sat 310 feet north of the 2001 that replaced it 16 years ago at Salter Park.
Brief History:
In 1980, Harper Woods purchased and installed 3 Thunderbolt sirens, one located beside a fence on Harper Ave next to a Service Drive, Johnston Park on Beaconsfield Rd, and Salter Memorial Park on Harper Ave. In 1997, it's been speculated that Harper Woods' system failed during the Hamtramck Tornado and the sirens were reworked during that time period. On December 22nd, 2009, Harper Woods began phasing out their old siren system with low maintenance, improved radio monitoring, battery backup sirens. On that day, three 2001-130s were installed at all 3 locations with only 1 siren being removed in the process. It wasn't confirmed why it took so long for the newer sirens to be hooked up but the remaining Thunderbolt sirens stayed in service up until 2011, around fall of that year both Thunderbolts were removed. In summer of 2012, during a trip to West Shore Services, the B Series was salvaged from the siren yard by Eric Laskowski and has been in his possession since then.
