Thousands of Abnaul Alkhairaat Masses Demand the Arrest of Fuad Plered

PALU, KOMPAS.TV - Thousands of people who are members of Abnaul Alkhairaat held a demonstration in front of the Central Sulawesi DPRD office, Friday afternoon. Demanding that the police immediately arrest and legally process Muhammad Fuad Riadi alias Fuad Plered for alleged hate speech against the charismatic Central Sulawesi cleric, Habib Idrus Bin Salim Al-Jufri who is familiarly called Guru Tua.

In their speech, the masses regretted Fuad Plered's statement which was considered insulting and degrading the dignity of Guru Tua with inappropriate words on social media. They urged the Chief of Police and the Central Sulawesi Police Chief to take firm action so that the law is enforced without discrimination.

Deputy Chairman of the Central Sulawesi DPRD from the Nasdem Faction, Aristan, who was also present at the demonstration, said he supported the demands of the masses. He asked the police to immediately complete the legal process for this case fairly and transparently.

In line with that, the Head of the Alkhairaat Youth Guard, Husein Habibu, revealed that the report against Fuad Plered had been submitted to the Central Sulawesi Regional Police since March 26, 2025. However, according to him, until now, the legal process is still running in place.

Responding to the action, the Deputy Chief of the Central Sulawesi Police who was present before the crowd stated that the report had been processed. He emphasized that his party had asked for information from language experts, legal experts and ITE Law experts, including coordinating with Tadulako University to explore the academic aspects of this case.

The action which took place in an orderly manner was closed with a joint prayer and the submission of an official statement of position to the Central Sulawesi Regional Police
