In this video, I'm walking through the small medieval town of Laguardia in northern Spain's Rioja Alavesa region.
With a population of around 1,500, Laguardia is a car-free hilltop village known for its narrow cobblestone streets like Calle Mayor and Calle Páganos, and its historic stone buildings. The town is surrounded by vineyards and offers beautiful views of the Ebro Valley.
Notable sights include the Church of Santa María de los Reyes, famous for its colorful 14th-century portico, and the Plaza Mayor, where a clock with dancing figures performs several times a day. Beneath the town lie over 200 underground wine cellars, some centuries old, offering wine tastings and tours. It's a peaceful place that feels like stepping back in time.
