PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND PRAISE
Jesus, you summoned the disciples to a voyage across the sea at night. Like them,
we hear you inviting us on a voyage of trust. We cannot see the way and trouble
may overtake us. Yet your presence provides haven from the storm. We confess
that like the disciples we are anxious, for you seem asleep to our cries. We confess that we find the appeal to trust you absurd when we’re frantically bailing to
prevent sinking. If you command the wind and sea, could you give us tranquility
always? Hear us, O Lord. Rescue us from the fears that threaten to submerge us.
Forgive us and give us your peace. Amen.
