Seller concessions explained - 2022 UPDATE in response to the 🔥 market

What is a seller concession and is it even a thing now that the market has changed? The chances of a buyer getting seller concessions less than a few years ago? Probably, yet there is some home. In the video, we talk about three scenarios that are most likely to have a seller accept and offer including a seller concession.

Seller concessions may also be known as a seller contribution or seller subsidy - they are all referencing an amount that will be credited to the buyer at closing, sometimes negotiated up front, sometimes negotiated at inspection time.

Seller concessions are dependent on the house appraising for the the sale price, which concerns some sellers in this market.

What is a seller subsidy? Simply, it's a credit to the buyer at closing from the seller's side of the settlement sheet, yet the buyer has financed that amount into the loan, so the seller isn't "paying" the buyer.

I can't say enough how a seller credit to buyer at closing is a case by case situation and we can't make statements that noone is receiving them or that you'll definitely get one. In my market, it is rare, but happening.
