In this video I take you through what I did to repair the float tower on the GS550 carburetors. This was the first time I broke one of these and feel it was bound to happen at some point. I made the repair by drilling a 1/16" hole in the pedestal and carb body where the break happened. I then used a cut down old drill bit to act as a reinforcement fitted within the drilled hole. Finally I coated the pedestal in JB Marine Weld after roughing up the outer surface. Time will tell if this is a long lasting repair.
