Welcome to the 21st Century and the new series of European Railways in the 2000s. Albeit a rather short series covering this period, as my slow transition from Video to Digital was taking place. In fact the 2000's was an end to my video archive and the digital era began, and really did not take off until late in the decade, due to the low quality camera equipment that was available on the market. My mistake was retiring the broadcast camera too early (In true BR style, too many early withdrawals), due to an expensive repair and the sheer size of carrying the thing around single handed. Back to this video now and upon a short visit to the sunny south of France I visited Agde and the station in the morning period, where I witnessed SNCF Locomotive Classes BB8500, BB9600, BB7200 and a TGV Duplex. A freight train was also seen passing through at speed as well in this film. Agde is located on the route not far East of the busier location of Béziers. It has connections with many places in the south of France along the Mediterranean and also into Spain and with Paris too. I do hope this video entertains and evokes old fond memories of the European Railway Scene of the era.
