Thanks for watching this video on a sensitive & controversial topic. The purpose for making it was to offer some discussion and shed some light on some cultural nuances & differences. Since our audience is primarily outside of Korea, we felt it was especially important to explain some of the Korean mindset concerning the blackface incident.

We recently had the opportunity to speak on Korean national TV about the recent Blackface incident where a group of students from Uijeongbu High School went viral by wearing blackface while imitating the popular Ghanaian dancing pallbearers.

When the famous Black celebrity in Korea Sam Okyere posted on Instagram about his disappointment concerning the meme, he received a lot of backlash. Becky and I approach this controversial issue from a cultural aspect and discuss our personal thoughts and feelings.
