Stock Stihl 500i vs FIRST Look at the FRANKEN500i.

Seems as though the Stihl 500i is getting a lot attention on YouTube currently. The bulk are touting it, still & continually, as the "world's first" fuel injected saw. Unfortunately and it's to bad but,,, that is just not an accurate statement. It does qualify for world's first "electronically" fuel injected saw, however. Jonsered had several versions of saws back in the mid to late 50's the were fuel injected.
My first experience with one of the 500i saws was in early March of 2020. Courtesy of my buddy Dave (Mr. "outinthewood") on YT. Ran it, in stock form, against a lot of other saws that were both stock & zipped. In the end, it is one of the better running saws in stock form that's ever been produced - even if it's not the "world's first" injected saw.
As mentioned, Mr. Mullinex sent me his 500i as he was not happy with it. If he decides to clarify that further then so be it. I will reiterate that it needed some tlc and it lent itself to what I had thought about with Dave's saw 7/8 months earlier.
What we see here is the second time I started it in FRANKEN500i form. I had not saw tested it other than one run through the log to see if it run at all. I did have the chance to use it multiple times since in saw-offs. Even altered the original "alterations" as the R&D process continued.
After modifying the FRANKEN500i version various times, I started over with a new, oem cylinder assembly. It was Psy-Ko-ized it for Mr. Mullinex and sent on it's merry way.
Looking at the timed runs:
Stock 500i at 13,390 (low) it went 23.13 down @ 9480 and 22.26 @ 9790 up
FRANKEN500i, 11,370 (way low) was 22.57 down @ 9320, 20.37 @ 9240 up
The initial test session yields a nice result on a thought concept that comes to fruition. I was well pleased with it outcome at this stage of the testing.
