Is Islam Compatible with Liberal Democracy?

In this special episode, I share my talk opposing the motion, “This House Believes Islam Is Not Compatible With Liberal Democracy,” delivered at the Agora Debate Club London on 28th July 2025, held at the historic Cittie of Yorke pub in Holborn.

Speaking alongside proposition speakers Raya Ahmed and Liudmila (Lucie) Gavrilova, and fellow opposition speaker Shankar Ananth, we engaged in a spirited exchange of ideas, followed by a lively and respectful Q&A with a thoughtful audience.

It was a powerful evening that highlighted the vital role of free speech and civil dialogue in building bridges, challenging assumptions, and strengthening democracy.
