Custer State Park South Dakota

The 18 mile wildlife loop road through Custer State Park in South Dakota is perfect for spotting all kinds of animals. Custer State Park is known for its massive bison herd, but there are plenty of other creatures in the area. Pronghorn, endemic to America, are not found anywhere else in the world and they are the fastest land mammal in North America. Bison have been roaming this area since prehistoric times. They are symbols to the Dakotas are sacred to the native Lakota people.
