In this relaxed rock hunt on a crystal clear creek down in NSW Australia, I found more than just pretty rocks.
I’m so glad I made this a video, I was sure what we’d find but the variety of agates were everywhere and I also find something I lost over 3 years ago.
Below is a few identifications of the rocks we found with the timestamp:
@1:00 Sard/Carnelian Chalcedony
NOTE: it wasn’t until cleaning this piece that I noticed it was a possible tool. It will be returned to this location on our next hunt.
@1:17 Druse Agate
@1:26 Druse cave/geode Agate
@1:49 Tube Agate
@2:00 Tyndall Agate
@2:18 Sard (dark but translucent Chalcedony)
@2:55 Fortification Agate
@3:31 Botryoidal with subtle agate bands
@4:19 Moss Agate
@5:42 Agate Nodule
@6:03 Chalcedony with exceptional clarity
@7:39 Flow Banded Rhyolite
@8:08 Plume/Moss Agate or Jasper Agate?
@9:01 Sard Waterline Agate
@9:15 Green/Blue Jasper and Agate
@10:42 Carnelian
@12:04 Chalcedony Nodule with remnants of minerals from basalt host stone
@12:51 White Chalcedony Tube Agate
@13:10 Tube Agate
@13:46 Mammillary/Botryoidal Chalcedony with rare side section showing the crystal growth in full from root to top
I’m on instagram but don’t post much
But thank you to every single one of you. I can’t wait for the next one.
