South African political activist Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has advised religious leaders to stop stealing from the poor in the name of God.
In his keynote address during a public lecture organised by Minister of Trade and Industry Vitumbiko Mumba at the University of Malawi last night, the political activist said stealing from the poor is retrogressive to social-economic development.
He warned politicians who reap from the poor people just to fulfil their personal gains, a trend he says is affecting the African continent to meet its full potential.
According to Ndlozi, the African continent is still in a poor state due to high levels of corruption despite efforts to fix the broken systems.
The lecture, dubbed People over Politics: A Bold, Righteous and Inextinguishable Idea aimed at redefining political leadership and governance in Malawi.
