NBC has officially greenlit a pilot for a brand-new detective sitcom from the creative team behind Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The new series, from B99 co-creator Dan Goor and executive producer Luke Del Tredici, follows the same formula of workplace humor with classic tropes, marking another comedy entry in the network’s growing procedural lineup, if the network decides to move it to series. The untitled half-hour series is a workplace comedy set in the world of private detectives. According to its logline, the project “continues the proud tradition of Los Angeles private eyes that began with Philip Marlowe and will end with this show.” The pilot will be executive-produced by Goor and Del Tredici, with Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, as the studio. The sitcom was praised for its sharp writing, inclusive storytelling, and character-driven humor. Brooklyn Nine-Nine earned multiple Emmy nominations and a devoted fanbase throughout its eight-year run. One of the show’s most beloved characters, Andre Braugher’s Captain Raymond Holt, quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his iconic performance that redefined the sitcom authority figure. Braugher’s death in December 2023 at age 61 was met with an outpouring of tributes from fans and castmates, cementing Holt’s legacy as one of TV comedy’s most respected characters. The untitled detective comedy pilot comes as part of a broader wave of development orders from the network. In recent days, NBC has also greenlit m
