Captain Qwark Overture – Ratchet & Clank 3: Up Your Arsenal (Orchestral Medley)

In tribute to the man behind the Q, Jim Ward. Truly the greatest superhero the galaxy has ever known.

This isn’t a particularly long arrangement and didn't take as long as some of the others I've done, but it feels like the most significant one. Probably due to it being for orchestra, the amount of tracks I had to reference and stitch together, and it being a tribute.

I attempted to arrange one of the vid-comic cutscenes for piano a few years before I started uploading arrangements, but failed miserably lol. It turns out trying to transcribe music from cutscenes with sound effects and voice over layered on top is not so easy. My orchestration skills leave a lot to be desired still (I tried to be as faithful as possible—it’s practically a transcription), but I'm mostly happy with this and am glad I returned to this project. :)

Of course, MuseScore and MuseSounds had a few issues that meant I had to do some shoddy external editing. It took me a while and I embarrassingly missed the most obvious solutions and wasted a lot of time and patience, though that’s not out of the ordinary for me lol. I had to edit in my own hand glissandos for the horns in bars 28 and 32 as MuseScore still can’t do glissandos right, so that’s why they sound so dodgy. My sincerest apologies. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

(I keep second guessing as to whether the horn glissandos are a bit too silly, but it’s a bit late now…)
