Bus journey through the Japanese countryside - visiting an onsen town - Yamanaka Onsen - 山中温泉

This is a very short video consisting of some footage during my trip to Japan in November 2024 when I visited the onsen town of Yamanaka Onsen. I took the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Kanazawa to Kagaonsen station and from there I took a bus to Yamanaka Onsen. The bus journey takes about 30 minutes picking up local residents along the way. In Yamanaka Onsen, I visited the public bath (Kikunoyu).

Riding the bus in the Japanese countryside was an interesting experience and walking around Yamanaka Onsen was also interesting.

Yamanaka Onsen (山中温泉), a small resort town along the Kakusenkei Gorge, is one of the four hot spring towns that make up Kaga Onsen. The town's hot springs were discovered over 1300 years ago by the monk Gyoki, and have since been known to produce some of the best waters in the region. The town was even lauded by the famous poet and traveler Basho as one of Japan's three best hot springs alongside Kusatsu Onsen and Arima Onsen.
