For his entire childhood, Cole only knew one thing, to always be prepared for an outburst from his mother – suffering from bipolar disorder. With his older sister, Kirstin always being there to protect him. After many years of abuse from the hands of his mother, both finally got away from their mother, moving to England to finally live a normal life.

Fast forward almost 20 years and Cole is back, now living with his cousin, Rae. And when he meets Rae’s best friend Clare at her birthday bash, he finds himself falling for her. But there’s just one problem, Cole finds it hard to trust anybody – thanks to years of abuse from his mother. But Clare won’t allow him to give up so easily, especially when he holds back the truth of his past, however, what happens when his past comes back to haunt him with his abusive mother back in his life, and what if the abuse also returns?
